Hewlett-Packard launches all-in-one workstation

Hewlett-Packard, on Thursday, launched the world's first 27-inch all-in-one workstation — Z1. Priced at Rs.99,990, the Z1 combines a sleek industrial design with accelerated performance, featuring Intel Xeon processors, NVIDIA Quadro graphics and is targeted especially at computer-aided design, digital media and entertainment professionals. “As the workstation industry leader, HP continues to invest in technology that allows our customers to push the limits of innovation. Our investments in R&D and technology have led to workstations that meet and exceed the needs of the world's most demanding customers. The revolutionary Z1 sets a new industry standard for workstation design, performance and serviceability…it will help attract new customers and expand our market leadership,” HP India Senior Director (Personal Systems Group) Vinay Awasthi told journalists here. According to Mr. Awasthi, the display of the new HP Z1 Workstation snaps open, so users can easily swap out parts and make upgrades without any tools required. It also features third-generation PCI Express technology, providing customers increased performance and seamless integration of new graphics cards. HP enjoys 53 per cent market share in the workstation space of the 70,000-unit annual sales. It also showcased its new line up of Z workstations — Z820, Z620 and Z420 — starting at Rs.50,000. The company is also planning to re-enter the fast-growing Indian tablet PC market. “We are closely following the tablet market…we will definitely share the information when we decide something on this,” Mr. Awasthi added.
