Artist News: David N. Kitler

This is what drawing with confidence is all about. David N. Kitler (Draw with Confidence: From Basic to Brilliant) sent us his latest piece called Pika Study. This graphite and acrylic (on Baltic birch) is a wonderful example of David's work, and it shows the power of the pencil.
If you're wanting to see David's work first hand (and you definitely do), David has been juried into into the prestigious “The Art of Conservation 2011” exhibit.  This year the annual exhibit will be expanded with the first annual Artists for Conservation Festival. This 10-day international event in Vancouver, Canada runs from November 4-13, 2011 and takes place a Grouse Mountain Restort, a wonderful venue highlighted during the last Winter Olympics.  Besides the artwork, the event will include art workshops, lectures, and demonstrations (in which David will be involved), awards dinner, involvement from First Nations, and much more.  You can read more details here.
On the American side of the border, David's Along the Waterfront (acrylic on Baltic birch, 60” x 40”) will be part of ArtPrize 2011.  He will be among the 1,582 artists from 36 countries and 43 states, who will be showing their work in 164 venues within ¾ miles of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan between Sept. 21 and Oct. 9, 2011.
