Battersea Boiler House

Last month, CL went to investigate what is set to become one of London’s coolest venues, the Battersea Boiler House.  The Boiler House is a temporary structure set at the heart of a London landmark, Battersea Power Station.  Here is what we found…

Visitors enter through an illuminated tunnel into the grand marquee, housed inside the 1930s art deco landmark.  This unique setting boasts a glass roof where guests can truly appreciate the scale and dramatic impact of the power station; in particular, the magnificent iconic chimneys, which take centre stage.

Despite the power station’s chequered history, it is now one of London’s most prestigious venues.  Recent projects have included: Nokia’s Christmas party and Cirque du Soleil as well as the annual Red Bull X Fighters and the increasingly popular Freeze Festival, attracting 45,000 snow sports enthusiasts.  It has also been used as a film set for various Blockbusters such as Batman: The Dark Knight.

As past events demonstrate, this exceptional 13,000 sq ft space can facilitate a whole range of events from private parties to award ceremonies.  The venue has a capacity to hold 700 seated dinner guests or 1,000 standing.

The Boiler House's derelict surroundings are in direct contrast to the contemporary structure.  The area is, however, being redeveloped.  One such example is the Pestana Chelsea Bridge 4* Hotel and Spa, which provides further scope for your all important event.

With CL's creative management, this venue could provide a high drama setting for a spectacular event.  If it is an al fresco venue that you are after, the Boiler House is certainly an option, featuring a 30m outdoor viewing deck overlooking 6,500 sq ft of outdoor showcasing space.
