Birmngham, Ala. Wynfrey Hotel to become a Hyatt

Al.com reports that the 329-room Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Ala., has received a major capital investment from Ohio-based RockBridge Capital, which plans a multimillion-dollar renovation project that will result in the conversion of the property to the Hyatt Regency Birmingham-The Wynfrey Hotel. Montgomery, Ala.-based Jim Wilson & Associates LLC, which developed the hotel and the adjoining Riverchase Galleria, will retain an ownership stake. Davidson Hotels & Resorts will stay on as hotel manager. The renovation will begin this fall and be completed by March 2013.
