Faisal Abdul Aziz Al Matar, General Coordinator of the Awafi Festival in Ras Al Khaimah, has announced that the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation 'Etisalat' will be the official sponsor of Awafi Festival 2011, following the recent signing of an agreement between both parties.
Al Matar emphasized that Etisalat's sponsorship of the 9th Awafi Festival, which kicks off on December 16 and runs until the 5th of January 2012, complements the company's distinct role in providing support to various events held in the UAE.
Al Matar also pointed out that, Etisalat, by sponsoring the cultural, heritage and tourism event is setting the right example for other companies in the UAE to follow. It also reflects its deep-rooted commitment to support events that serve the community and boost tourism in the country in general and Ras Al Khaimah in particular.
The General Coordinator of the festival affirmed that during the past years Etisalat has been keen to support and promote various activities that would elevate the status of the UAE and shed light on its popular tourist attractions and the many business, cultural, sports and social events. This in turn would attract a large number of citizens, residents and tourists from outside the UAE to attend and closely follow the events and activities of the Awafi Festival, which has established itself as one of the leading local and regional festivals.
