Food & Hotel Oman 2011, the largest and only international event for Oman's hospitality sector, to kick off to an exciting start on December 5th 2011 at the Oman International Exhibition Center. Slated from December 5 to 7 with opening hours from 10:00 a.m. to1:00 p.m. and 4:30 to 9:00 p.m., the show promises to be much-bigger and more interesting than the successful and well-received 2009 edition.
The chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry HE Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji will inaugurate the event, accompanied by an entourage comprising executives of the SABCO Group, embassy officials, and other top officials of leading international companies.
This year, apart from the extensive range of the most modern products, services, and equipment on display for the food and hotel operations, Food & Hotel Oman 2011 will launch the "Live Cooking Session & Culinary Arts," organized by Omanexpo in cooperation with Oman Chef's Guild.
The feature is topbilled by the best celebrity chefs in Oman, led by Chef Issa Al Lamki, and the students of the National Hospitality Institute.
According to Oman Chef's Guild's Chef Gireesh Nair, "We want to bring fancy food preparation to the fore. We not only educate and arouse the interest of young talents; we drive people into the industry. Through these live cooking demonstrations, visitors will gain insight on how vegetable, chocolate, and ice carving is done."
Food & Hotel Oman project manager Abdullah Beg said, "Oman is has a huge potential market, owing to the aggressive expansion and development by the government in the tourism industry. As our objectives are aligned with the various chambers, we find it easy to encourage and attract international companies to the show, especially with the predicted growth of the industry in four to five years."
Over 100 companies from more than 15 countries will showcase their own range of the latest food and beverage, food processing technologies, branded kitchen and catering equipment, packaging systems, hotel supplies and related services. This year will see a strong representation from international companies with the presence of the national pavilions of Italy, Singapore, India, Thailand, Malaysia, China and the UAE.
Among the leading companies in Oman who are participating in the exhibition are Khimji Ramdas, Trade Links & Services Co., Al Halabi Kitchen Equipment, AKAH Najwani & Partners, Oman Gulf Enterprises, and Paramount Middle East, who is also Food & Hotel Oman's platinum sponsor.
