Home Show 2011 ends on a successful note

The curtains came down on a successful maiden edition of The Home Show that had exhibitors and visitors alike applauding the high standard of the event, as well as its role in energizing Oman's home building and interiors industry. From the outset of its inauguration on 13th December through to its conclusion on 15th December, The Home Show 2011 lived up to its billing as a unique and exclusive showcase of products and services integral to the creation of the ideal home environment.

"Judging by the robust praise received from the participants, business community and consumers, the inaugural edition of The Home Show has been a stupendous success," said C. J. Paul, CEO, Global Exhibitions and Conferences (GEC), organizers of The Home Show 2011.

"The positive feedback, along with the many new insights gained, gives us the inspiration to stage an even bigger and impactful event in 2012. We wholeheartedly thank all the exhibitors, sponsors and well-wishers for their confidence in GEC and The Home Show series."

As many as 104 exhibitors from more than 14 countries showcased their products and services during Oman's first exposition on the home and interior environment. On display was a superb array of furniture sets, furnishings, home appliances, kitchen systems and accessories, wall and floor coverings, lighting systems and fixtures, and a host of other merchandise catering to the diverse tastes of home-builders and homeowners. In addition, a number of prominent local and international service providers put on show their specialist expertise in the fields of home architecture, construction, interior design, landscaping, pest control, and other related services.

Contractors, consultants, architects and interior designers were among a total of 6,774 industry professionals who visited the venue - Oman International Exhibition Centre - during the three-day event. Footfalls involving homeowners, homebuilders, manufacturers, property investors and developers, also contributed to the impressive turnout.

Indeed, gratified by the overwhelmingly positive outcome of recently concluded show, many exhibitors have already confirmed their participation during next year's edition, while others are mulling an expanded presence.

For Santosh Kasture, Chief Operations Officer of Sharikah Fanniyah Omaniyah (Muscat) LLC, The Home Show 2011 presented a splendid opportunity to spotlight its flagship brand - the famous French furniture label Gautier - in Oman. Impressed with the overall appeal of the inaugural show and the quality of visitors, Gautier has already decided to ramp up its presence at the 2012 Home Show exhibition.

Also eyeing an enlarged presence at next year's Home Show is Panorama Investments LLC, sole representatives of the reputable Vabene brand of Italian kitchens in the Sultanate. Rashid Al Kindi, Chairman, cited the "excellent organization and marketing" of the Home Show 2011 as the primary motivating factor. Also noteworthy was the event's success in attracting a variety of targeted consumer segments, he stated.

Many exhibitors saw their order books swell on the back of the strong visitor turnout. Better Homes' General Manager, Glenn Meek said the company clinched a number of business deals during the event. So did Muscat Heaters LLC, according to Madhu Kumar, Sales and Marketing Manager.

Feedback from visitors was equally heartening. "Congratulations on a successful exhibition. It was definitely worth the visit!" commented Nuha Al Moosa, Product Specialist - Mortgage Loans, Retail Marketing & Business Development, Oman Arab Bank.

Young Omani entrepreneur Nadia Al Zakwani hailed the superior standard of the show and the high quality of the products and services offered to Oman's business and consumer communities. Echoing this sentiment, Meghna Mukherjee, Marketing Coordinator, Sadolin Paints (Oman) Ltd., noted that the event was comprehensive - covering all aspects for building a beautiful home.

"GEC aims to build on the success of the Home Show 2011 to organize an even bigger event next year. Home Show 2012 will run from 18th to 20th December 2012 at Oman International Exhibition Centre," added Mr. Paul.
