AHMEDABAD: An incident of firing got cops of two police stations
running around in wee hours of Monday. Interestingly, neither of the
police stations knew that they were probing the same case. The matter
ended with six persons being arrested by Ramol and Maninagar police
early on Monday.
It all started in Ramol on Sunday night. "A group from Madhya Pradesh had come to Mahadevnagar in Vastral to participate in a marriage ceremony. At that time, some of the members from bridegroom's side got their guns out and fired in air to announce their arrival.
Everything went well till one of the shots accidently grazed the shoulder of Rajkumar Bhadoria, a resident of Narol. He was rushed to a hospital," said a Ramol police official. It was later found that Nareshsingh Rajput, a resident of Manikpur in Uttar Pradesh, had fired from his gun that injured Bhadoria. Rajput was arrested late in the night by the cops.
On the other hand, Maninagar police nabbed five persons from near Pushpkunj at 2 am on Monday when they were roaming around in a black Mahindra Scorpio in suspicious manner.
"We found five guns including two double-barrel rifles, two single-barrel rifles and a pistol from the SUV. Narendrasingh Suryavanshi, 42, a resident of Ujjain, and four others were arrested from the spot," said an investigating official.
