Some Hotel News to Nibble On Over Thanksgiving

The world may be living in a 24-hour news cycle but we've got some news of our own for you--we're taking the rest of the week off. So barring any major hotel news or events, you won't be reading us again until Monday. Of course, we'd never leave you totally empty-handed. So here's a bunch of hotel news and info to nibble on until our return.
· At Thompson Beverly Hills, BondSt Sushi is out and Caufield's is in (pictured above.) Laurie Mulstay and Ron Marino, the duo behind LA's Magnolia and Bar Chloe, have created an all-American culinary experience at the hotel with classic renditions, farmers market small plates and homemade desserts. The bar will feature handcrafted cocktails, artisan wines and craft beers. We'll have more from inside Caufield's next week so save some room in your tummies!
· The Redbury Hotel in Hollywood has just launched their own dog pampering program in the form or two packages. The Standard Dog package comes with custom beds, bowls, and an in-residence door tag. Owners will get a Redbury-curated guide to everything dog-centric in the neighborhood. The Pampered Pooch package goes above and beyond the Standard with a Redbury dog tag, a Doggie DVD to watch while owners are out, plus the ability to watch your dog on a webcam and the services of a Canine Concierge to check in on your dog and you text updates. Packages start at $120 a pup. The Redbury also says, "With advance notice, The Redbury is happy to accommodate most any type of pet." So bring your pig!
· InterContinental Mark Hopkins in San Francisco is celebrating its 85th year on December 4 with fresh new guestrooms and special dining and drink packages at it's famed restaurant, The Top of the Mark. It's also giving away a weekend at the hotel on Facebook.
· Hotel Americano, the hot new hotel in Chelsea, now features iPads in every guestroom. The iPads run on the Runtriz platform so that guests can order room service, make spa appointments and put in requests all from the iPad's touch-screen. But the hotel also has their own app which features personal recommendations for things to do in NYC from Hotel Americano designer and architect Enrique Norten and creative legend Richard Pandiscio. It also comes loaded with a selection of digital newspapers, blogs, useful links and customized music playlists reflect the "cosmopolitan and nostalgic, yet decidedly Latin flavor of the hotel."
· Beacon South Beach is now offering free breakfast. The hotel had already been offering continental breakfast from 9am to 11am but now the hotel has upped the ante, and the bacon with a new full breakfast menu. Free breakfast in SoBe and you don't have to sleep with anyone to get it!
· The Sheraton New York still has rooms available for Thanksgiving. The hotel, which overlooks the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, has rooms open starting tomorrow night at $750. That is a lot but remember it's New York and it's Thanksgiving. At least the rooms are newly renovated.
· All-star all-inclusive resorts, Palace Resorts, which now include the all-inclusive Hard Rock Resorts of Punta Cana, Vallarta, Cancun and Riviera Maya, has just announced a major partnership with event planner extraordinaire Colin Cowie to create Colie Cowie Weddings. Starting at $1,500, couples can choose from 18 different kinds of wedding packages, all designed by Cowie, with hotel wedding specialists on hand to make sure that everything goes smoothly on the big day. Best of all, the resorts are even letting couples use resort credits toward the wedding packages.
· The Modern Honolulu (formerly the Waikiki EDITION) has partnered up with Stash Rewards, the largest loyalty program for independent hotels. Guests who stay at the Modern can now earn five points for each dollar spent on eligible room rates. Remember, Stash points never expire, and redemption is simple, without blackout dates or category restrictions.
· The Saguaro, the new JDV Hotel in Scottsdale, is throwing an Awkward Holiday Party this Saturday where guests are encouraged to wear ugly holiday sweaters and nibble on "leftovers-inspired" items and sip on seasonal cocktails from Chef Jose Garces at the hotel's Old Town Whiskey bar. There will be an "awkward family photo booth" with props and prizes given for the best photos. The event will also showcase the opening of "Christmas in America", a photo series by local artist Jesse Rieser. The event is free with a canned good donation which will be given to a local foodbank. Best of all, rates at the hotel on Saturday night are just $99 (plus tax.) Use the promo code AWKRD.
