Taste of Dubai new dates announced

Bringing together highly acclaimed restaurants, internationally renowned celebrity chefs, premium beverage brands, gastronomic exhibitors and an incredible entertainment stage, Taste of Dubai 2012 promises to be the best one yet.

In order to accommodate even more of Dubai's finest restaurants and iconic chefs from around the world, the region's favourite food, drink and music festival, now in its 5th year, has announced new dates of 15-17 March 2012 at Dubai Media City's Amphitheatre, with tickets scheduled to go on sale on 26th January, according to organizers.

An elite line-up of 25 restaurants will serve up their signature dishes at Dubai's premier al fresco festival.

Following the success of the 2011 festival, now making their debut at Taste of Dubai 2012 are some of Dubai's most renowned and popular restaurants including Gaucho, Nobu, Seafire, Saffron, Ronda Locatelli, The Ivy, Toro Toro, Zafran, Da Shi Dai, Mahec, À la Turca, Sonamu, Buddha Bar and Carluccio's.

"In 2011, we surpassed all expectations with a new, improved format that was incredibly well-received by visitors, guests and sponsors alike. By reworking the ticket prices to make them more affordable, we made the show more convenient and accessible to a much wider audience," said Anju Sami, show director. "The response was overwhelming to say the least."

More than 17,000 people visited Taste of Dubai 2011 making it one of Dubai's largest outdoor festivals and a firm fixture on the social calendar.

"We changed the dates for this year's show to ensure all 25 restaurants and the incredible celebrity chef line-up could be accommodated and we will be announcing even more exciting developments from now until the show," she added.

The hugely popular features at Taste of Dubai will be back once again in 2012, including the Philips Chefs' Theatre, with culinary greats including Gary Rhodes, Vineet Bhatia and others. The Miele Cookery School will give visitors the opportunity to enjoy a fun filled masterclass with celebrity chefs in interactive culinary sessions.

Chefs will share their skills, and then put participants through their paces to create delicious results. Not to mention the MMI Beverage Theatre where visitors can enjoy a tipple and increase their beverage knowledge at a series of educational and interactive sessions. To ensure that the mega event is attractive to the young ones as well, The Kids Zone, an exclusive play area that also has several entertaining activities, is back too. The Entertainment Stage features MapleJacks, one of the most popular resident bands in the UAE - other music acts will be announced in the run up to the festival.v
