Aztec goes to the movies at the London Film Museum

The Fab Beatles - headline act; The Main Hall, Stage and Lighting; Gala Dinner lit beautifully

Aztec Event Services has spent a day at the movies, providing AV equipment and crew for the London Film Museum’s latest networking event. The museum’s event was designed to promote the iconic location, set on the first floor of London’s County Hall, as a unique meeting and event venue. The museum is set on the banks of the Thames, opposite Big Ben and next to the London Eye.
The team at the London Film Museum invited around 600 guests, including existing clients, as well as venue and event finding and booking agents. The event, running from 17.30 to 21.30, included a ‘speed networking’ session – in between each song from the Fab Beatles tribute band, attendees had to find someone they didn’t know, talk for a minute, and then exchange business cards.
Aztec provided the PA, plasma screens and lights for the stage in the main room for the Fab Beatles and other musical acts, as well as AV support for other rooms around the building. They also installed the battery-operated coloured LEDs that lit the way round the museum for the tour and highlighted points of interest. All this, and a crew of four people and two project members, was at no cost to the museum.
Event manager Lucy Tearle said: “I thought the team from Aztec was amazing. All the team members were so flexible and understanding with the rules and regulations that I had to stick to at the venue. The kit they gave us on the night was incredible, and I hope to work with them again soon.”
Aztec managing director John Robson said: “We are delighted to support good causes such as the London Film Museum. Working in these kinds of venues is always a challenge but the team really made the whole event work.”
The Fab Beatles have performed all over the UK, Europe, Middle East & the Americas since 1991. The band uses only authentic instruments and costumes, including the drum-kit used by Ringo on The Beatles 1964 American tour.
