Send AH&LA Your Personal Stories on Legislative Challenges

The American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) is reaching out to the industry and asking for your personal stories to be shared during the AH&LA Legislative Action Summit (LAS), February 29-March 1, in Washington, DC.
It’s your stories that motivate lawmakers to cast their vote and effect a policy change on issues like the new ADA regulations, labor, and travel policy.

LAS attendees will take your testimonials on their Hill appointments, providing even more validation for how laws and regulations impact hotel owners and employees in their state.

While it’s not too late to register for the conference and speak your mind in person, writing in your concerns based on personal experience as an alternative will allow your voice to be heard and make our industry’s voice stronger.

There are two ways to participate:

AH&LA members can use this template through HotelLOBBY, AH&LA’s grassroots program, or write their own letter and email it to Eric Reller a tereller@ahla.com.

Nonmembers can write their own letters and email them to Eric Reller at ereller@ahla.com.

To write an effective letter, focus on specific examples of hardship.  Follow up with a clear asking point and explain how it will impact your business, and ultimately, your state in a positive way.  Keeping workers employed or creating new jobs is always a key selling point.

LAS is the nation’s leading legislative conference for hotel owners and operators, and offers a wealth of educational panels led by members of Congress and the Administration, industry experts, and CEOs covering the key issues facing the hotel industry.  In addition, attendees speak one-on-one with their Representatives to convey our industry’s perspective.  Learn more at www.ahla.com/LAS.
