10 Easy, Eco-Friendly and Green Wedding Ideas!

e you caught the green bug yet? Maybe you broke down and bought a reusable grocery bag last month, but forget to bring it inside the store with you when you go?!  Well, the good news is I found ten easy and simple ways to keep your wedding eco-friendly! Your wedding is a very important day in your life, but the earth is important to you for the rest of your life.
10 Easy, Eco-Friendly and Green Wedding Ideas:
1. Plant a tree in celebration for your day at a nearby park.
2. Your wedding can raise money for charity! Register your wedding at www.idofoundation.org with one of their partner stores (such as Target!) and up to 10% of guests’ gift purchases from these partner stores is donated to your selected charity. You still get the four-slice-toaster you always wanted, there is no additional cost for your guests and you’ll benefit a wonderful charity!
3. Give the gift of a tree as favors for your guests. Visit http://www.arborday.org/ . You can even order some with custom labels!
4. Wear flowers in your hair instead of buying a one-time-use veil for a hefty price.
5. Set the mood with more candle light than electricity.
6. Have your flower girl throw flowers made of paper punches instead of real flowers. Use scrap paper or even find seed paper that you can plant after your big day!
7. Ask your parents/grandparents/relatives if they can pass on their toasting flutes or cake server sets. Even if it doesn’t perfectly match your rhinestone-encrusted accessories, it will mean the world to them that you asked! You can always tie a nice ribbon around the stems or handles to perfectly match your dream colors!
8. Have your guests throw bird seed after the ceremony instead of rice.
9. Bake brownies or cookies from your favorite family recipe to use as favors for your guests. Include a recipe card so that everyone can make the treat themselves!
10. “The best thing about them is that you can shorten it and wear it again! Defiantly so true!”  Unlike the movie 27 Dresses, really do look for dresses that your bridesmaids can wear again! Think outside the bridal store and into more everyday dresses at other stores! Their closets and pocketbooks will thank you!
