Chicken Ala Kiev: Christmas Recipe

Chicken Kiev is one of the most sinfully delicious dishes ever made. Soaked in butter and herbs it is a brilliant but easy Christmas recipe. This fried chicken recipe is basically consists chicken stuffed with buttered herbs and then fried. Chicken Kiev is looks like a browned crunchy mound of chicken but as soon as you cut it, butter and the aroma of spices oozes out from it. This easy Christmas recipe is idea for the festive season when everybody is in the mood to feast. Moreover, it takes little time to cook this fried chicken recipe.

No matter how easy, this Christmas recipe is not for calorie conscious eaters. Only total foodies allowed to try this amazing Russian dish form Kiev.

Ingredients For Chicken Kiev:

1. Chicken Breasts (boneless) 4
2. Butter 100 grams
3. Garlic 10 cloves
4. Coriander leaves 1 tablespoon
5. Thyme 1 teaspoon
6. Basil (chopped) 1 tablespoon
7. Rosemary 1 teaspoon
8. Mint (chopped) 1 teaspoon
9. Milk 1 cup
10. Eggs 2 (beaten)
11. Flour 1 cup
12. Bread crumbs 1 cup
13. Pepper 1 tablespoon
14. Salt as per taste
15. Oil (half pan) for deep frying

Procedure For Chicken Kiev:
  • Mince the garlic and butter in a mixer grinder. Add the spices to it and mix it to an uniform paste.
  • Beat the chicken pieces with a rolling pin to make it tight. Don't do this too hard as it might shred the meat.
  • Now roll out long cylindrical shapes out of the herb added butter. It should look roughly like a piece of chalk.
  • Place in on one side of the chicken and fold up the chicken inwards to lock it within. Every chicken breast should have 4 such portions.
  • The chicken should look like a enclosed compact piece closing upon itself. Heat oil in a deep pan until it starts steaming.
  • Now beat eggs with milk and dip the kiev in it. Roll it in flour (seasoned with salt and pepper) and then dip it again in the beaten eggs. This time dip it in bread crumbs.
  • Deep fry the kiev (2 at a time) on low flame. It takes about 6-8 minuted to get cooked from within
