Anna’s fast for three days will be followed by ‘Jail Bharo Andolan

On Tuesday, Anna Hazare slammed the Lokpal draft proposed by the government acclaiming that now he will be moving on to a three days fast. Anna said that he will be holding the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ followed by a campaign in five states which are bound to elections in opposition to Government.

“I will fast on December 27, 28 and 29. This will be followed by a three-day jail bharo from December 30. After this, I will go to five states (where Assembly polls are due) and campaign against the (Congress-led) government,” Anna said.

Team Anna presenting views over the winter session of the Parliament said that its extension will be considered valuable only if a strong Lokpal Bill with CBI out of government control will be brought.
Opposing the centralisation of the grievance redress mechanism in the draft bill, Anna said that Uttarakhand has presented a good Lokayukta bill.

“Government’s intentions are not clear on Lokpal bill. One has to go through a maze even for ration card complaint. We reject the draft and I will go on fast from December 27 to December 29,” Anna said.

As per the schedule the three days fast will be followed by ‘Jail Bhao Andolan’ which is expected to be held on December 30, 31 and January 1. And the five state campaigns against Government will be conducted in next year.
