Mumbai, Jan. 5 -- He started off 2011 by marrying long-time girlfriend Avantika Malik. Then, he tasted back-to-back successes with Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. And now, right at the start of 2012, Imran Khan is gearing up to enter the Ferrari club.
But the actor's dream vehicle -the latest model of the luxury Italian automobile brand, owned by the likes of singer-actor Justin Timberlake and Hollywood star Hugh Grant -comes with a heavy price tag of approximately R 4.6 crore. Insiders reveal that the model, which hasn't been launched in the Indian market yet, is done up in red and black with similar toned interiors, and has been customised as per Imran's preferences.
"Imran's Ferrari will be ready in a few days, but since he is busy with the promotions of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, he has informed the company that he will take the delivery only after the film's release on Valentine's Day," says one of the actor's close associates.
The source also confirms that the modifications requested by Imran have raised the cost of the sports car from R 3 crore to around R 4.6 crore. "The customisation jacks up the total price. But Imran is happy because things have been going well for him since his marriage," he insists.
When contacted, the actor shies away from discussing the hefty price tag, but admits, "I have ordered a customised Ferrari. But since I am currently busy with the promotions, I will only get my hands on the car after my film releases."
