FESTAXI cuts journey time from car park to campsite at festivals in 2012.

Daniel Jones – who studied arts management and cultural events management at De Montfort University – now runs a transport company that shuttles people around the sites of major UK festivals and events.
Using a fleet of golf buggies, Cambridge-born Daniel and his FESTAXI team will be transferring hundreds of people from the car park to the campsite – or from the campsite to the stage areas – and back again at a number of festivals in 2012 following the success of 2011.
“The idea for the business came to me when I was volunteering at Latitude festival in Suffolk,” said Daniel, 28.
“I was so tired after walking around the site and having such a good time that I lay down on the grass and thought ‘I could do with a taxi’.
“It dawned on me that a golf buggy – would be the obvious solution”.
FESTAXI made its debut at last year’s Latitude festival, with a pool of golf buggies ferrying festival-goers around the site. Since then, the team has also provided a shuttle service at the Relentless Boardmasters festival in Newquay, Strawberry Fields Festival in Leicester and The Great Dorset Steam Fair.
“We’ll be exploring the idea of providing a unique and bespoke service to all sorts of outdoor events, both at home and abroad and are constantly looking at new and exciting ways to improve onsite transport.”

FESTAXI operates at no cost to the festival, promises more energy and enjoyment time for festival goers and a viable advertising space for prospective sponsors.
They are currently looking for drivers and work experience volunteers to join its expanding team.
