Leading players in ophthalmic and optometry industry to showcase innovations during Vision -X Dubai exhibition

Ophthalmic and optometry professionals from all over the world are focused on Dubai for the Vision-X Dubai exhibition, which takes place from the 8-10 May 2012 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The three day event features 120 exhibitors from 25 countries and brings together leading international companies and global industry professionals to network, conduct business and keep abreast of key optometry and ophthalmic trends. Segmented into two areas, 'Vision Opticare' and 'Vision Lifestyle', Vision-X incorporates the full spectrum of eye care. Vision Opticare will showcase the latest medical Ophthalmic, Optometric and Technical Equipment and Machinery, while Vision Lifestyle, will focus on innovations and trends in Eyewear Fashion and Accessories. "Vision-X has established itself as an essential sourcing platform for the optical industry with its extensive international appeal. The show is the ideal arena for industry specialists to showcase developments, products and services for the MENA market. The eye care industry is a vital part of the region, from both a healthcare and lifestyle point of view," said Trixee Loh, Senior Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of Vision-X Dubai. Industry leaders that have confirmed their participation at Vision-X Dubai include Platinum Sponsor Egma as well as exhibitors such as Amico, Bakarat Optical, Future Optics, Johnson & Johnson, Lomic, and many more. Country pavilions at this year's exhibition will feature a host of first time exhibitors including Ca Va Se Voir, Creation Poncet, Opal and Ophl Lafont Sa from France, and Block Optical, Pull Up Case UG, Swiss Eye International GmbH and Swiss Optic GmbH from Germany. In addition, leading companies returning to this year's exhibition include Centrostyle and Look Occhiali from Italy, Essilor from France, Kefan Optic (Nikon) from Kuwait, Satisloh from Germany and many more. 'We have been exhibiting for five years now and we have seen a tremendous increase in the number and quality of visitors. The level now is much better than before. The opportunities are fantastic from very broad markets including Iran and Pakistan", said Hussein Al Wazzan, Vice President, Nikon. Also featured alongside Vision X is the Middle East and Africa Vitro-Retinal Society's (MEAVRS) Clinical Uveitis Course which takes place on 10 May from 9am to 5pm. The course aims to promote Vitro-Retinal education and training in member societies and is designed to present the latest scientific information on the diagnosis and treatment for Uveitis. Featured speakers at the course are Dr Fernando Arevalo, Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at John Hopkins School of Medicine and Dr Hassan El Dhibi, Chief of the Uveitis Division at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia. All course attendees will receive a certificate of Continuing Medical Education (CME). Many new launches will take place throughout the event which will showcase the latest brands, trends and fashion in eyewear from around the world including Eschenback's TITANflex which was the only eyewear brand to win the 2012 iF Material Award; Eyres Optics' eye protectors - polarised sunglasses and goggles to help avoid eye injuries during extreme sports; IMAGO's latest collection of metal frames handmade in Italy - OGAMI; Kefan's Nikon Progressive Lens - Presio Balance XS and many more. Vision-X Dubai will be held in Sheikh Saeed Halls 2 & 3 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8-10 May 2012. Timings are from 10am - 7pm daily. Vision-X is strictly a trade-only event and is open to business and trade visitors from within the industry only.
