HBTI to host seminar on environmental safety

KANPUR: The biochemical engineering and food technology department of Hartcourt Butler Technological Institute is organising a two-day golden jubilee seminar on 'Genesis-2013' commencing from Saturday.

The subject of the seminar is 'Advances in bioprocesses for environmental safety and nutritional security'. It is organised by HBTI and Association of Biochemical Engineers and Food Technologies.

Several scientists, academicians and experts from all over the country will participate in the seminar. Brajesh Singh, head of biochemical engineering and food technology department, said that the technical event aims to bring together industry and academia on a platform.

Meanwhile, the students of department of oil and paint technology, HBTI, are organizing a seminar-cum- technical festival named as 'Confluence-2013' from March 8 to 10.

Ayush Agarwal, co-ordinator of the event said that a more than 500 students are expected to take part in the event. Technical events like panel discussion, paper and poster presentation and quizzes in various fields like cricket, business etc will be held. A number of events like Technical Parley-Research Presentation, Kaleidoscope Poster, Colloquium-Panel Discussion, Essemble-Institute Industry Interaction, Flashback-Alumni-Student Interaction, Bioenact, Treasure Hunt, calligraphy, caption writing, T-shirt painting, concoction, punchline writing will be held. The event will conclude with cultural competitions followed by a DJ night. Delegates from the leading oil and paint industries will also attend the seminar.

The much-awaited annual technical fest-Mecharnival of department of mechanical engineering, Hartcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), will also be held on March 9 and 10.

The two day long fest is being co-organised by Association of Mechanical Engineers. Over 1000 students from various engineering colleges across the country will participate in it.

Various events like Robotics, Business Plan, Junkyard Wars, Poster Presentation, Paper presentation, fashion show-'Manera', The Snazzy Shutterbug etc will be held. Also events named Besserwise (quiz event), synergy (informal events), ecstasy (cultural events), Armageddon (Lan Gaming), panache and pizzazz (a copy of Roadies programme), Roboadze (robotics event), Eviscerate (design event), Biz Wizard (Business Plan event), Janque Wars (Junkyard Wars), Model United Nation (MUN), Imbizo (Paper and Poster presentation) and others would be held.

The students of HBTI are busy these days in the preparations of these events.
