06/10/2011 Record web visits during the week and strong download numbers for the TFWA World Exhibition app underline the growing uptake of technology amongst the industry
At the recent TFWA World Exhibition conference, TFWA president Erik Juul-Mortensen urged the industry to take full advantage of new technology to enhance communication with consumers. And judging by TFWA web traffic and app downloads during the week, participants were receptive to that message.
The new TFWA World Exhibition app for iPhone and Blackberry provided offline information including exhibitor details, exhibition maps, an index of services and the full programme. The app was well-received, with 950 downloads for iPhone and around 490 for Blackberry - impressive numbers when compared to the 5,868 visitors attending this year’s exhibition.
Exhibition Directory
New initiatives on TFWA.com also led to a surge in traffic over the week, with visits for the week up +60% on the event in 2010. This increase reflects continued improvements to the information provided on TFWA.com, in particular the new Exhibition Directory – a fully-searchable, exportable database of exhibitors and pre-registered visitors featuring company information and contact details – and TFWA World Exhibition Day by Day – a temporary homepage posted during the event giving daily photo highlights and instant access to essential event information.

As well as the above initiatives, almost 100% of pre-registered delegates to TFWA World Exhibition now complete the pre-registration process online; a fast, efficient and environmentally process which minimises on-site procedures, allowing participants to focus on their participation while in Cannes.
TFWA World Exhibition in Review
TFWA is committed to using e-communications to improve the experience of its members, exhibitors, visitors and supporters. As a further example, TFWA World Exhibition in Review 2011 will be online next week, featuring multimedia highlights – including video and photo galleries – as well as other added-value content from this year’s event.
