Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals' (HFTP®) Club and
Hotel Controllers Conference offers a wide spectrum of education that
gives attendees the opportunity to catch up on the latest developments
related to financial professionals. The conference, co-located with the
2012 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®),
is June 25-27 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md."Today the role of the hospitality financial professional has evolved into more than just dealing with accounting issues. With the increased accessibility of technology and portability of data and new opportunities to manage the business in unconventional ways; financial managers find themselves managing business partners more than staff. Expectations are higher and the knowledge base of the professional needs to expand to handle these effectively," said Arlene Ramirez, MBA, CHE, CHAE, principal at ADR Hospitality Consulting and chair of the HFTP Education Advisory Council. "This year the Education Advisory Council has done a great job of looking at the current situation and anticipating the future and has provided a strong educational program with a variety of topics that provide more tools for any hospitality professional to be prepared for the challenges ahead."
The conference's two full days of education includes two industry-specific concurrent tracks — one for hotels and the other for clubs — and a keynote session from Andy Core, president of Core Wellness. His session "Life Balance — Redefining Humanly Possible" discusses how to improve your work-life balance, productivity, health and ability to stay motivated in turbulent times.
With up to 15 continuing education credits available, the Club and Hotel Controllers Conference will cover hot financial issues like tax issues, benchmarking tools, cloud computing, outsourcing, PCI compliance and more. New this year, the conference includes easy access to club and hotel vendors specific to finance who will be on hand to discuss the latest solutions for your property.
Because the conference is co-located with HITEC 2012, it offers additional benefits like a co-located Welcome Reception at Power Plant Live!; specific time set aside for the HITEC exhibit hall featuring hospitality technology vendors and the newest version of GUESTROOM 20X; and access to additional education, including HITEC's Opening Session with Caesars Entertainment's Gary Loveman.
