New Year of 2010 saw the start of another tradition in Goa – The Carnival Ano Novo. Organized, by The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group to excite the residents of the region in celebrating the arrival of a new beginning – the Carnival witnessed five colorful floats, over 300 costumed folk dancers of the region, lots of music and a spectacular parade.

Lalit Suri Hospitality Group to excite the residents of the region in
celebrating the arrival of a new beginning – the Carnival witnessed five
colorful floats, over 300 costumed folk dancers of the region, lots of
music and a spectacular parade. The Guest of Honor for the carnival was
His Excellency Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu, Governor of Goa, who was very
impressed by the dancers and gifted Rs. 50,000 to them out of Governor’s
fund.Goa, India
He further said “The state of Goa is known for tourism and creation of such unique event as Festival of Canacona will help build the attraction of this place.”
The Carnival parade commenced from porch at InterContinental the Lalit – where a special performance was presented by all the dancers – the parade then moved to Chauri, onto Chear Rasta and finished with an exhilarating spectacle of dance at the popular Palolem beach. Spontaneous participation from the local community had generated great anticipation and was a befitting finale to The Festival of Canacona by The Lalit.
